These terms apply to your use of thatspreadsheetguy.net (the "Site"), run by Steven Cahill, a sole trader operating as That Spreadsheet Guy ("I", "me", "my"). By using the Site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
1. What the Site offers
The Site provides spreadsheet tutorials, function guides, free and paid downloadable templates, and a newsletter. Content is general information and education only.
2. Use of content
All text, images, videos, templates and other material on the Site are owned by me or used with permission, and are protected by copyright. You may:
- Read and share links to the Site’s pages
- Use the free and paid templates for your own personal or internal business purposes
- Quote short excerpts with a clear credit and link back to the Site
You may not resell, redistribute, republish or share the templates or other content, in whole or in part, or present them as your own, without my written permission.
3. Paid templates and purchases
Paid templates are sold through third-party platforms such as Payhip or Gumroad. Their terms, payment processing, taxes and refund processes apply to the purchase in addition to these terms. Digital products are delivered electronically. Unless required by law, all sales of digital downloads are final. If a template is faulty or doesn’t work as described, contact me and I’ll make it right.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law where it applies.
4. No professional advice
Tutorials and templates are provided as general guidance. They are not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. Formulas and layouts may need adjusting for your own data, local rules and software version. Always check results before relying on them for important decisions.
5. Accuracy and software changes
I work to keep content accurate and current, but spreadsheet software changes often and I can’t promise that every function, feature or screenshot will behave the same in every version of Excel, Google Sheets or other tools.
6. Disclaimer and limits of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site, its content or the templates, including data loss or errors in your workbooks. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the product or, for paid products, refunding the price you paid.
7. Third-party links and services
The Site may link to or embed third-party services such as YouTube, payment platforms and analytics tools. I don’t control them and am not responsible for their content or practices.
8. Privacy and cookies
How I handle personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
9. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The date above shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
